Author Guidelines

Online Submission

Authors who already have an account may log in to submit their manuscripts. Those who do not have an account are required to register first through the Online Journal System (OJS). Registration and login are necessary to submit manuscripts and monitor the review process.

 

General Provisions

1.    The manuscript is an original scientific work and has never been published.

2.    It is not currently under review in another journal.

3.    It is written in Indonesian or English.

4.    File format: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx).

5.    Manuscript length is between 10 and 15 pages.

6.    Authors must use the AFISH template.

7.    Use tools such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote for reference management and formatting (or use manual references if difficult).

8.    One of the authors is designated as the corresponding author by including an active e-mail and complete institutional address. 

Manuscript Structure

The manuscript must be prepared and is recommended to follow the structure:

1.    Title. The article title should be as concise as possible, without acronyms or abbreviations. The title should be written briefly but informatively enough to describe the content of the writing.

2.    Abstract. The abstract should be 200–300 words, without citations. State in the abstract the main objective, research design, research contribution, methodology, main results, findings, and conclusion.

3.    Section structure. Authors are advised to present their articles in the following section structure: Introduction, Method, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion. The content of the article has the following structure, systematics, and percentage of page count:

               a.      Introduction covers the background, problem formulation, and research objectives (10%).

               b.      Literature Review includes theoretical studies and relevant previous research findings (15%).

               c.      Research Method contains the design/model, sample and data, place and time, data collection techniques, and data analysis techniques (10%).

               d.      Research Results and Discussion (50%).

               e.      Conclusion contains conclusions and suggestions (15%).

                f.      References (pay attention to the example arrangement in the template).

4.    References. Minimum of 15 references, especially with a minimum of 80% from national and international journal articles, and choose APA Style 7th Edition. Do not use unpredictable website sources.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Research Article

Research Articles report original, unpublished scientific research in the field of aquatic and fisheries products technology. Manuscripts submitted to this section must present a clear research objective, appropriate research design and methodology, valid data analysis, and findings that provide scientific or practical contributions to the field.

Research Article manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English and should generally be 10–15 pages in length. Authors are required to use the AFISH manuscript template.

The abstract should contain approximately 200–300 words, must not include citations, and should briefly and clearly present the main objective of the study, research design, research contribution, methodology, principal findings, results, and conclusion.

Research Article manuscripts should generally be organized into the following sections:

  • Title
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Literature Review
  • Research Methods
  • Results and Discussion
  • Conclusion
  • References

The manuscript should follow the approximate proportion of total manuscript length specified in the AFISH Author Guidelines:

  • Introduction: 10%
  • Literature Review: 15%
  • Research Methods: 10%
  • Results and Discussion: 50%
  • Conclusion: 15%

Manuscripts must include a minimum of 15 references. At least 80% of the references should be derived from relevant national and international journal articles. Authors are required to use APA Style, 7th Edition for reference formatting and should prioritize reliable and reputable academic sources.

One author must be designated as the corresponding author and must provide an active email address and complete institutional address.

All manuscripts submitted to the Research Article section will undergo the journal's peer-review process.

Review Article

Review Articles provide a critical, comprehensive, and up-to-date synthesis of published scientific literature in the field of aquatic and fisheries products technology. Manuscripts submitted to this section should identify important developments, research trends, knowledge gaps, and future research directions relevant to the scope of AFISH.

Review Article manuscripts must be based primarily on credible and peer-reviewed scientific sources. The review should not merely summarize previous studies, but should provide a critical analysis, comparison, interpretation, and integration of the available literature.

Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English and should follow the AFISH manuscript template. The abstract should contain approximately 200–300 words and clearly describe the background, purpose, scope of the review, main findings or synthesis, and conclusion.

The manuscript should generally include the following components:

  • Title
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Introduction
  • Review Method or Literature Search Strategy, where applicable
  • Main Review / Thematic Discussion
  • Research Gaps and Future Perspectives, where relevant
  • Conclusion
  • References

References should prioritize recent and relevant national and international journal articles. Authors are required to use APA Style, 7th Edition for reference formatting.

All manuscripts submitted to the Review Article section will undergo the journal's peer-review process.
