Focus and Scope

 

The journal accepts articles on a broad spectrum of themes on humans, environment and development, with contemporary social and cultural perspectives. In terms of spatial coverage, priority is given to articles which cover local and regional issues.

This could be:

  • Global Issues: Challenges of demography, pandemic, Economic crisis, Climate Change, or Sustainable Development challenges that contribute to the SDGs.
  • Welfare Issues: Poverty, Unemployment, Labor, Homeless, Urbanization, Youth life and anxiety, and other Social deviations.
  • Economic Empowerment: Development of assets, institutions and financial capabilities or Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) empowerment and social entrepreneurship, also Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
  • Development Issues: Social Policy, Development politics, Education and Health services, Migration, Civic participation and community participation, and Social Protection.
  • Environment Issues: Agrarian conflict, Deforestation, Land and tenurial, Water Crisis,  Environmental sanitation, Slum Area,  common property and natural resources, Political Ecology.
  • Social Equity: Gender and Child problems, Women's empowerment, Social Justice, Conflict issues, Ethnicity, Religious beliefs, and Indigenous communities in Kalimantan.
