Screening for Plagiarism - PANAKEIA Journal
PANAKEIA Journal upholds the integrity of academic writing and publication by ensuring that all submitted manuscripts are free from plagiarism. The journal implements a strict plagiarism screening process using reliable plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin or other similar tools. This process is essential to maintain the originality and credibility of the research published.
Plagiarism Policy
-
Definition of Plagiarism:
- Plagiarism involves the use of someone else's work, ideas, or words without proper attribution. It includes copying text, figures, or data, as well as improper paraphrasing without giving credit to the original source.
- Jurnal PANAKEIA defines plagiarism as presenting another author’s work or ideas as one’s own, whether intentional or unintentional, without proper acknowledgment. This includes direct copying, substantial copying, and self-plagiarism (reusing previously published work without disclosure).
-
Plagiarism Check:
- Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal PANAKEIA will be subject to a plagiarism screening process before it is sent for peer review. The plagiarism threshold is set at a maximum of 20% similarity, excluding bibliography and quoted content.
- Authors must ensure that their work is original and properly cited. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% will be returned to the authors for revision or rejection based on the severity of the plagiarism.
-
Consequences of Plagiarism:
- If plagiarism is detected during the manuscript review or publication process, the authors will be required to correct the plagiarized content. Severe cases may lead to manuscript rejection.
- In cases where plagiarism is detected post-publication, the journal reserves the right to retract the article, and the authors’ institution may be informed about the breach of ethics.
-
Author’s Responsibilities:
- Authors must ensure that all sources of information are properly acknowledged.
- Authors must provide original work, free from plagiarism or self-plagiarism, and cite all relevant publications that influenced their research.
By maintaining rigorous plagiarism checks, Jurnal PANAKEIA aims to foster a high standard of scholarly conduct and protect the intellectual property of authors.
