Plagiarism Policy

The Editorial Team of REFORST Mulawarman J Sci Technol recognizes that plagiarism is unacceptable and therefore sets out the following policy which states specific actions (penalties) when plagiarism is identified in an article submitted for publication on REFORST Mulawarman J Sci Technol.

Definition:
Plagiarism is the act of intentionally or unintentionally obtaining or attempting to obtain credit or grades for a scholarly work by quoting, in whole or in part, the work and/or scholarly work of others that is recognized as their scholarly work, without properly and adequately acknowledging the source.

For this reason: Papers must be original, unpublished, and not in the process of being published elsewhere. Material taken verbally from other sources must be clearly identified as being different from the original text.

If plagiarism is detected, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the article and will authorize action based on the level of plagiarism detected, using the following guidelines:

Level of plagiarism
1. Plagiarizing part of a short sentence from another article without citing the source. Action: The author will receive a warning and a request to change the text and cite correctly.
2. Plagiarized a large portion of another article without proper citation and without acknowledging the source. Action: The submitted article will be rejected for publication in this journal and the author may be sanctioned not to publish in REFORST Mulawarman J Sci Technol.

All authors of the article are responsible for the content of the article they submitted as they all signed the REFORST Mulawarman J Sci Technol Publication Ethics Statement Form/Letter of Originality. If the article is found to be plagiarized, all authors will be subject to the same action.

If it is proven that the author submitted a manuscript to REFORST Mulawarman J Sci Technol by simultaneously submitting it to another journal, and this overlap is discovered during the peer review process or after publication, action will be taken according to point 2 above.

If plagiarism is found outside the above rules, the editor of REFORST Mulawarman J Sci Technol has the right to impose sanctions according to the editorial.

Plagiarism Check:

REFORST Mulawarman J Sci Technol has its own plagiarism policy. Every author who has submitted their manuscript is obliged to check for plagiarism. The level of plagiarism allowed is not more than 25%. The editorial team will not send to the reviewer if the plagiarism check result is more than 25% and will be returned to the author for improvement.
