Publication Ethics
ANDIL Mulawarman Journal of Community Engagement (ANDIL Mulawarman J Comm Engag) with e-ISSN 3046-9139 is a peer-reviewed journal, published by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LP2M) Mulawarman University in 2024, The first publication was published in February 2024 (edition 1 January-March period). This journal contains the application and downstreaming of research results through Community Service (PkM) activities in various multidisciplinary fields such as Education, Technoscience and computers, agrocomplex, health, and socio-cultural, as well as Entrepreneurship and economics. In addition, ANDIL Mulawarman J Comm Engag contains various activities carried out in handling and overcoming various problems that occur in the community by applying science and technology which can then be useful for improving the welfare of the community. It is available online as an open access resource. This statement clarifies the ethical behaviour of all parties involved in the act of publishing articles in this journal, including authors, editor-in-chief, Editorial Board, reviewers, and publishers.
Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
Publishing articles in ANDIL Mulawarman J Comm Engag is an important cornerstone in the development of knowledge networks and their wide dissemination. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the author's work and the institution that accommodates or supports it. Peer-reviewed articles strongly support and embody the scientific method in publishing quality journals. Therefore, it is important to adhere to and agree on the standards of ethical behaviour expected of all parties involved in the publishing process, especially authors, bestary partners, editorial team, managers, and the Society. As the publisher of Andil Mulawarman J Comm Engag, we take our fiduciary duties seriously and recognise our ethical and other responsibilities at every stage of publication. We also endeavour to ensure that advertising, reprinting and other commercial income do not influence our editorial Decisions. ANDIL MUlawarman J Comm Engag's publication ethics guidelines refer to Cope's core practice.
EDITOR TASKS
Publication Decision
The ANDIL Mulawarman J Comm Engag Editor Team is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal will be published. The validity of the work in question and its importance to researchers and readers should always drive such decisions. The editors may be guided by the journal's editorial board policy and constrained by legal requirements that would apply regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may confer with other editors or reviewers in making these decisions.
Aspects of Fairness
The editors at all times evaluate manuscripts for their intellectual content without regard to the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy of the authors.
Confidentiality
Editors and any editorial staff should not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, prospective reviewers, other editorial advisors, and the publisher, as appropriate.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Unpublished material disclosed in the submitted manuscript may not be used in the editor's own research without the written consent of the author.
REVIEWER TASKS
Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review assists editors in making editorial decisions and through editorial communication with authors can also assist authors in improving their papers.
Velocity
Any selected Article who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that a prompt review is not possible should notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.
Confidentiality
Any manuscripts received for review should be treated as confidential documents. They should not be shown or discussed with others except as authorised by the editor.
Objektivity Standard
The review should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of authors is not allowed. Editors should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
Source Recognition
Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the authors. Any assertion that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. Reviewers should also bring to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published papers of which they have personal knowledge.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review should be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest arising from competition, collaboration, or any other relationship or connection with the authors, any company, or institution connected with the paper.
AUTHOR TASKS
Reporting Standard
The author of the original research report should present an accurate account of the work done as well as an objective discussion of its significance. The underlying data must be accurately represented in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the work. False or deliberately inaccurate statements constitute unethical and unacceptable behaviour.
Orisinality and Plagiarism
Authors should ensure that they have written original work throughout, and if the author has used the work and/or words of others that these have been appropriately cited or quoted.
Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent
An author should not generally publish a manuscript describing essentially the same research in more than one major journal or publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously is unethical and unacceptable publishing behaviour.
Source Recognition
Proper acknowledgement of the work of others should always be given. Authors should cite publications that were influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
Manuscript Author List
Authors should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, conduct, or interpretation of the reported research. All persons who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Other persons or parties who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be recognised or listed as contributors. Correspondence authors should ensure that all appropriate authors are listed in the manuscript and that there are no inappropriate authors, and that all authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.
Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects
If the work involves chemicals, procedures or equipment that have unusual hazards inherent in their use, the author should clearly identify these in the manuscript.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
All authors must disclose in their manuscript any conflict of interest either substantive or financial that might be construed to influence the outcome or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project must be disclosed.
Fundamental Errors in Published Work
When an author discovers significant errors or inaccuracies in his or her published work, it is the author's obligation to immediately notify the journal editor or publisher and co-operate with the editor to retract or correct the manuscript.
