PRESEPSI MASYARAKAT TERHADAP KEBERADAAN PENANGKARAN SARANG WALET DI KAMPUNG SEKOLAQ JOLEQ KABUPATEN KUTAI BARAT

Abstract

The potential of swiftlet farming is very promising, especially with the large 
export opportunities. The development of swiftlet can be carried out using houses as house for swiflet to nest with ideal housing conditions is in the lowlands and far from residential areas. This study aims to determine the public's perception of swiftlet farming in Sekolaq Joleq Village, West Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan. Research data were obtained through two methods, namely observation and interviews with the sampling respondents, then the results were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that most people's perceptions of swiftlet farming in Sekolaq Joleq Village were mostly disturbed by the existence of the swiftlet farm. In addition, the threat of viruses that are carried by swiflets is one of the problems faced by the residents, but has not received a good response from swiftlet farm owners.
