Abstract

This article discusses a financial literacy education initiative organized by KKN (Student Community Service) Group 52—a collaboration between Mulawarman University and UIN Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris (UINSI)—in partnership with Bank Kaltimtara. The activity took place at SMK Negeri 1 Tenggarong Seberang in Tenggarong Seberang District, aiming to introduce students to the "TabunganKu" savings product and basic banking concepts. The program comprised a pre-test, a presentation of material, a discussion session, and a post-test to measure improvements in participant understanding. The average pre-test score was 65.6 (N = 27), rising to 82.2 in the post-test—an increase of approximately 25.4%. These results demonstrate the effectiveness of the outreach activity in enhancing students' understanding of banking concepts and the TabunganKu savings product, particularly given the diverse composition of the audience, which included students from various grade levels with differing backgrounds regarding savings habits and prior engagement with banking services.
