Abstract

Stunting remains a health problem that requires attention, including through preventive efforts beginning in adolescence and continuing through the child-rearing period. This activity aimed to provide education on stunting prevention to adolescents and mothers with young children in Engkuni Pasek Village, Barong Tongkok District, West Kutai Regency. The activity was conducted using an educational approach adapted to the characteristics of each target group. Education for adolescents aged 11-19 years was delivered using presentation media and complemented by discussions and quizzes. Evaluation was conducted through a pre-test and post-test to assess changes in participants’ assessment scores. Meanwhile, education for mothers with young children was integrated into Posyandu activities and supported by the distribution of a booklet as an informational medium. The evaluation results among adolescents showed an increase in the mean score from 47 on the pre-test to 57 on the post-test. Among mothers with young children, the education was attended by 32 participants and conducted through Posyandu activities, covering stunting prevention, nutritional needs, and child-rearing practices. Education for both target groups served as a promotive effort to provide information and strengthen community understanding of stunting prevention according to the characteristics and needs of each target group.
