Community Service Learning (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) is the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, serving as a practical learning experience for students while contributing directly to society. The Regular KKN program of Mulawarman University was conducted in Kelurahan Temindung Permai, Sungai Pinang Sub-district, Samarinda City, from July 13 to August 2026, with a focus on environmental, health, economic, and social issues. The main environmental program addressed low community awareness in waste segregation and the continuously rising volume of Samarinda's daily waste by processing household organic waste into compost and eco-enzyme, installing waste sorting facilities, delivering waste-sorting education to SDN 012 students, establishing a waste bank, and installing waste-awareness signage. Supporting programs covered MSME data collection and empowerment through Google Form-based registration, pamphlet distribution, and business-banner facilitation; a National Children's Day celebration; weekly community clean-up activities; Indonesian Independence Day events; and Posyandu assistance for stunting and dengue fever education. The results show that compost and eco-enzyme production, the sorting facilities, the waste bank, and routine clean-ups effectively improved neighborhood cleanliness while creating recycling-based economic value, while the supporting programs strengthened community welfare and collective participation. Overall, the KKN program successfully built community awareness, cooperation, and independence in sustainable environmental management.
