Abstract

This article documents the implementation of three Community Service Learning (KKN) programs in Manggar Baru Village, East Balikpapan: strengthening the fishing hub through outreach on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), investment and capital market literacy, and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for the fishing community; providing environmental sanitation guidance for Neighborhood Units (RT) 21–25 as part of the Clean, Green, and Healthy (CGH) initiative at the Balikpapan city level; and conducting village statistical data collection in collaboration
with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) across 52 RTs throughout Manggar Baru Village. The discussion focuses on the village statistics program as the sole activity that generated a massive volume of quantitative data. The survey results showed a population of 17,113 people comprising 5,459 households, with the capture fisheries sector as the dominant livelihood (1,772 households, approximately 32%). Basic sanitation indicators in RTs 21–25 were relatively good, with all registered households receiving formal waste collection services, while eight RTs across the subdistrict were identified as having potential for nature, historical, and culinary tourism. All of this primary data was processed into infographics and integrated into the subdistrict’s official website to support public information transparency and data-driven village development planning. These findings demonstrate that synergy among KKN programs can strengthen the village’s database while simultaneously raising awareness of occupational safety and health (K3) and environmental hygiene among coastal communities.
