Dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF) remains a major public health problem in Indonesia, which reported more than 244,000 cases and over 1,400 deaths in 2024. The success of prevention depends heavily on community knowledge and behaviour in mosquito nest eradication (PSN). This community-service activity aimed to assess the effect of health education using a Larva-Free House (Rumah Bebas Jentik) booklet on residents’ knowledge of dengue prevention. A one-group pretest–posttest pre-experimental design was applied to 40 residents. Participants completed a pretest, received counselling with distribution of the booklet, and then completed a posttest using a 10-item knowledge questionnaire (score 0–10). Data were analysed with the Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test and a paired t-test (α = 0.05). The mean knowledge score rose from 7.90 (79.0%) to 8.68 (86.8%), a difference of 0.78 points (95% CI 0.45–1.10). The improvement was statistically significant (t = −4.782; p < 0.001), with a medium-to-large effect size (Cohen’s d = 0.76) and a strong pretest–posttest correlation (r = 0.807). The Larva-Free House booklet effectively improved community knowledge of dengue prevention and is suitable as a routine counselling medium within the One-House One-Larva-Monitor movement to support a Larva-Free Index of ≥ 95%.
