Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve public health and socio-economic well-being in Muara Jawa Pesisir, through an integrated program that includes the establishment of a Tuberculosis Alert Village (Village), business legalization assistance, and financial literacy education. As part of the Community Service Program (KKN) Batch 52 of Mulawarman University, this initiative addresses multidimensional challenges, including health stigma, lack of formal business recognition for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and low financial literacy among youth. Using a participatory approach through community outreach, mentoring, and training, the program successfully facilitated the official establishment of a “Village of TB Alert” through a local government decree, provided technical assistance for business registration through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system, and conducted a financial literacy workshop for vocational high school students using experiential learning methods. The results showed a significant increase in community organizing for Tuberculosis, increased awareness of formal business requirements among MSMEs, and a 30% increase in financial literacy scores among students. These findings suggest that integrated community service interventions are effective in bridging the gap between national policies and local implementation, and contribute directly to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Healthy Lives and Well-Being, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Quality Education.
