Empowerment of Loa Kulu Kota Village through Village Data Strengthening, Financial Education, MSME Digitalization, and Environmental Sanitation Education

Abstract

The 2026 Collaborative Community Service Program of Universitas Mulawarman in the Loa Kulu area was implemented through three priority programs determined by the university before field placement: Village Statistics, Environmental Sanitation, and Financial Education. Field observation, interviews, data checking, stakeholder coordination, and business verification were therefore used to contextualize targets, activity content, implementation methods, and evaluation rather than to select new programs. The Village Statistics program supported checking and updating village data, improving village profile and monograph documents, consistency checking, evaluation worksheets, Loa Kulu Kota in Figures, data visualization, and a village statistics booklet. The Environmental Sanitation program involved 61 students in grades IV-VI of SD Negeri 029 Loa Kulu; the mean score increased from 85.90 in the pre-test to 95.74 in the post-test, a gain of 9.84 points or approximately 11.46%. Under the Financial Education program, assistance to local micro, small, and medium enterprises included business identification number facilitation for 15 entrepreneurs, QRIS activation at 32 business points, registration or validation of 32 locations on Google Maps, and financial education with practical guidance for approximately 45 entrepreneurs. The results indicate that predetermined priorities can remain locally responsive when field evidence is used to tailor implementation and when outcomes are interpreted according to the indicators actually measured.
