Towards an Empowered and Sustainable Pulau Besing: Developing Tourism Potential, Strengthening Digital Literacy, and Providing Financial Education for the Community

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) in Pulau Besing aimed to develop tourism potential, strengthen digital literacy, and provide financial education for the community. The activities used a participatory approach through three priority programs: tourism development through facility improvements and promotional video production, shared reading activities and introduction to the i-Kaltim application, and financial education on pocket money management for elementary school students. The results showed that the tourism program supported the promotion of local potential, the literacy program encouraged the use of technology as a learning medium, and financial education provided basic understanding of needs, wants, and saving habits. These three programs represent an initial effort to support community empowerment and optimize local potential toward a more empowered and sustainable Pulau Besing.
