Abstract

Pegat Bukur Village, located in Sambaliung District, Berau Regency, possesses various local assets that can be developed through community empowerment. This Community Service Program (KKN) aimed to support the optimization of the village's potential, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), by strengthening environmental management, introducing local culture, and providing educational materials regarding plants in the agrotourism area. The activities were conducted from July 13 to August 22, 2026, employing methods such as observation, asset identification, stakeholder coordination, education and outreach, media and institutional development, documentation, and evaluation based on both processes and outputs. The environmental sanitation program included educating the community and school students on waste sorting and management, as well as establishing operational mechanisms and formalizing the waste bank management team in collaboration with the Environmental and Sanitation Agency (DLHK). The tourism development program produced a documentary and promotional video for the Dragon Boat Race Festival, held to commemorate Pegat Bukur Village’s 66th anniversary, serving as a medium to showcase local culture. Meanwhile, the food self-sufficiency program produced informational banners for the agrotourism area to educate visitors about local plant varieties. The activities successfully delivered outputs including waste management education, the strengthening of the Waste Bank institution, cultural promotional media, and plant information materials. These outputs represent an initial contribution toward supporting environmental management, cultural awareness, and the utilization of local assets in Pegat Bukur Village. However, further evaluation is required to assess the program's medium- and long-term impact, sustainability, and overall effectiveness.
