Abstract

Unstructured financial management and the lack of systematic cash flow recording often pose major obstacles to maintaining household economic stability and the sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This community service activity aims to enhance the financial literacy and awareness of the community of Kersik Village through education and practical training in simple financial record-keeping. The implementation method employed a participatory approach consisting of preparation, interactive socialization on basic financial management concepts and the separation of personal and business finances, discussion, and an evaluation of participants' understanding using pretest and posttest instruments. The quantitative evaluation results indicated an increase in the average participants' understanding score from 71.67 in the pretest to 83.48 in the posttest, representing an increase of 16.48%. A total of 95.65% of participants demonstrated improved scores, and no participants experienced a decline. Qualitatively, there was a shift in participants' perspectives from initially attributing financial problems primarily to external factors to being able to identify concrete solutions, particularly by controlling small, recurring unnecessary expenses (financial leaks)q and developing regular saving habits. In conclusion, this educational activity was effective in strengthening the community's basic understanding and skills in managing finances in a wiser, more planned, and accountable manner.
