Plastic waste is one of the environmental problems that needs to be introduced to children from an early age. Elementary schools provide a strategic environment for delivering waste management education through learning activities that involve direct practice. This activity aimed to provide education on waste management and introduce the application of the 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) through the utilization of used plastic bottles to make educational piggy banks. The activity was conducted at SDN 001 Palaran, involving 52 sixth-grade students. The implementation method used an educational, participatory, and hands-on approach consisting of preparation, waste management education, piggy bank-making practice, and evaluation and reflection. The results showed that students actively and enthusiastically participated throughout the educational and practical activities. Students were able to follow the steps of making educational piggy banks with guidance from the facilitators and produced various designs according to their creativity. This activity provided direct experience in applying the reuse principle, developing creativity, and understanding that used materials can still be transformed into functional products. The activity contributes to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12, Responsible Consumption and Production, through the introduction of responsible waste management and the application of the 3R principles. It also supports SDG 4, Quality Education, through educational and hands-on learning activities. Therefore, this activity can serve as a simple and practical approach to fostering environmental awareness and sustainable behavior among elementary school students.
