Abstract

The rapid development of technology requires digital literacy that encompasses both skills (promotive) and risk awareness (preventive). This community service program, conducted through the KKN initiative at SMPN 2 Marangkayu, integrated two interventions: (1) the introduction of computational thinking, coding, and basic AI concepts through interactive presentations, algorithmic games, and student worksheets (LKPD); and (2) the socialization of the dangers of online gambling through counseling, discussions, simple simulations, educational quizzes, and pre–post test assessments. The activities were carried out in several 90-minute sessions. The results demonstrated high participant enthusiasm, improved understanding of basic coding–AI concepts, and significant progress in students’ post-test responses regarding the definition, impacts, legal aspects, and prevention of online gambling compared to their pre-test. These findings confirm the effectiveness of an integrated digital literacy approach at the junior high school level and recommend its routine integration into Informatics learning, along with strengthened school–parent collaboration to supervise gadget use.
