A Sustainable Empowerment Strategy for Suko Mulyo Village: Integrating Environmental Innovation, Digital Literacy, and Local MSME Development in Support of the SDGs

Abstract

This community empowerment program in Suko Mulyo Village aims to enhance local potential, community capacity, and improve digital and environmental literacy. The interventions include the implementation of a drip irrigation system as a water-efficient innovation, production of village profile videos to strengthen local identity and promotion, and digital marketing training for MSMEs managed by women’s PKK groups, particularly the banana peel chips enterprise. In the education sector, training on creative writing, time management, bulletin board creation, and basic financial literacy were conducted to foster discipline, creativity, and early saving habits among children. Environmental initiatives comprised awareness campaigns on water hygiene, fabrication of simple water filters, and training in photosynthetic bacteria (PSB) production, effectively raising public awareness on clean water and organic farming practices. Evaluation results demonstrate significant improvements in community knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy in utilizing digital technologies and simple innovations to support local economic development. The sustainability of these programs depends on continuous mentoring, strategic collaboration with external partners, and adequate infrastructure support to enable Suko Mulyo Village to evolve into an innovative, adaptive, and self-reliant community. This comprehensive approach contributes to advancing the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
