Abstract

Boundary mapping of neighborhood units (RT) in Berebas Tengah Village, South Bontang District, was conducted using Geographic Information System (GIS) to produce accurate digital maps supporting village administration and development planning. Shapefile data were obtained from Bontang City Planning Agency (Bappelitbang) and validated through field surveys and discussions with local officials and community members to ensure boundary accuracy. Data processing involved correction, re-digitization, and map layout design using ArcGIS and Google Earth Pro software. The resulting RT boundary maps facilitate accurate boundary identification, assist in resolving disputes, and enhance transparency in community area management. The official maps were handed over to the village authorities as administrative documents and references for development. Utilizing participatory approaches and GIS technology, the mapping project contributes to more effective governance and improved community welfare at the RT level.
