Abstract

Community service is one of the implementations of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which aims to provide real contributions to village development. This activity was carried out through the 51st Community Service Program (KKN) of Mulawarman University in Olong Pinang Village, Paser Belengkong District, Paser Regency, East Kalimantan. The main programs implemented include making videos of village potential as a promotional medium and local branding, compiling administrative maps and land cover maps to support spatial data-based regional governance, as well as socialization of waste banks and the construction of unit waste bank posts as an effort to manage the environment based on a circular economy. The methods used included in-depth interviews with village officials and RT heads, field surveys, spatial data processing using ArcGIS software, production of audio-visual content, and participatory socialization to the community. The results of the activity showed that the village potential video successfully documented superior commodities such as rice fields, palm sugar and lemang MSMEs, and oil palm plantations; administrative and land cover maps provided useful spatial information for village development planning; while the waste bank program increased public awareness of waste management. Thus, this community service program contributes to the promotion of local potential, improvement of regional governance, and empowerment of the Olong Pinang Village community towards sustainable development.
