Implementation of an Innovative Website-Based Information System as Education and Disaster Mitigation for Residents of Handil Bakti Village, Palaran District

Abstract

Handil Bakti Village, located in Palaran District, is one of the areas frequently affected by flooding. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effectiveness of disaster education in the region. The method used in this program is a participatory approach. The community is not only positioned as an object but also plays an active role in data collection, discussions, and information validation. The result of this disaster education program is the implementation of an information system in the form of the SIPENDAT website, which can be utilized by neighborhood heads (RT) in Handil Bakti Village, Palaran District. This website is designed to report data in the event of a disaster. The implementation of SIPENDAT has had a direct impact on the residents of Handil Bakti. Neighborhood heads are now able to report disasters more quickly, accurately, and in a structured manner, thereby accelerating the follow-up process by the sub-district government and related institutions.
