Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the Mulawarman International Conference on Tropical Public Health (MICTOPH) Proceedings are subject to a peer-review process to ensure scientific quality, originality, relevance, and compliance with the publication standards of the proceedings. The review process is conducted through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform in accordance with the following procedures:

  1. Manuscripts are initially evaluated by the Editorial Team to ensure compliance with the scope, author guidelines, ethical standards, and technical requirements of MICTOPH Proceedings.

  2. Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment are assigned to qualified reviewers who are researchers, academics, lecturers, or practitioners with relevant expertise in the manuscript's subject area.

  3. The review process is conducted through the online OJS platform. Authors are required to ensure that their registered email address and profile information are accurate and to regularly monitor their OJS account for editorial decisions and revision requests.

  4. Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, a manuscript may be accepted, accepted with revisions, returned for major or minor revisions, or rejected.

  5. Authors are expected to respond actively and promptly to revision requests. Revised manuscripts and responses to reviewer comments must be submitted through the OJS platform within the specified revision period.

  6. The duration of the review process may vary depending on the availability of reviewers, the quality and complexity of the manuscript, and the timely participation of authors and reviewers.

  7. The final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript is made by the Editorial Team based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the manuscript’s compliance with the scientific and editorial standards of MICTOPH Proceedings.

  8. The peer-review process is independent of the open-access policy. All articles accepted and published in MICTOPH Proceedings are made openly accessible under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
