This study aims to describe the policies and programs implemented by the General Election Commission (KPU) of Samarinda City increasing the political participation of Generation Z through the utilization of digital space. In addition, this study analyzes the factors that influence the effectiveness of KPU Samarinda’s efforts in using digital media to reach young voters, as well as examines the contribution of digital space to enhancing Generation Z’s political participation in the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) of Samarinda City. This research employs a qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, digital documentation, social media observation, and policy studies, including references to KPU RI Decree Number 620 of 2024 concerning the Voter Socialization and Education Program. The findings indicate that KPU Samarinda has implemented three main forms of digital space utilization: direct socialization in schools combined with the distribution of digital content, collaboration with local media to expand information reach, and the organization of sub-district-level (PPK) social media competitions. These programs contribute to increasing the political participation of Generation Z, although challenges remain, such as the low activity of PPK social media accounts and the absence of systematic educational content. Overall, digital space has a significant influence on expanding socialization outreach to Generation Z; however, its effectiveness still depends on the consistency of content management and the digital literacy of young voters.
