Abstract

Walaupun penggunaan pupuk kimia (anorganik) memiliki sejumlah kelemahan, hingga saat ini penggunaan pupuk kimia (anorganik) masih menjadi metode utama dalam meningkatkan hasil pertanian. Untuk mengurangi jumlah penggunaan pupuk kimia, tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengedukasi Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Kartini Terbanggi Mulya, Bandar Mataram, tentang manfaat penggunaan pupuk organik. Penulis menggunakan pendekatan ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) untuk dukungan masyarakat. Pendekatan ini merupakan salah satu bentuk pengembangan masyarakat yang memanfaatkan aset lokal milik daerah. Pelatihan diberikan untuk memfasilitasi konversi sisa air cucian beras dan limbah air kelapa menjadi pupuk organik cair sebagai bagian dari inisiatif pengembangan masyarakat. Selain memperkuat batang dan menambah bobot tanaman serta menguraikan bahan organik, pupuk ini juga membantu meningkatkan ketahanan tanaman terhadap hama dan penyakit serta mendorong pertumbuhan dan produktivitas tanaman. Kegiatan dimulai dengan menentukan desa mana yang paling banyak menghasilkan sampah; Dalam kesempatan ini kami mewawancarai kepala desa, sejumlah warga sekitar, dan Ibu Eka Ravitri, Ketua KWT Kartini. Kami kemudian melakukan percobaan pembuatan pupuk organik cair dan melakukan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat desa. Upaya tersebut bertujuan untuk mengurangi penggunaan pupuk kimia dan menurunkan biaya pembelian pupuk dengan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan masyarakat Desa Terbanggi Mulya dalam memproduksi pupuk organik cair khususnya dari limbah air cucian beras.
