    “Strengthening Health Systems for Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Prevention in Achieving the SDGs”

    Publication

    The 4th Mulawarman International Conference on Tropical Medicine and Public Health (MICTOPH) welcomed abstract and full paper submissions. Accepted papers were published in the MICTOPH Proceedings, indexed in Garuda and Google Scholar. Selected authors were also provided opportunities and guidance to submit their manuscripts to relevant national and international partner journals.

    Purpose

    The conference aimed to:

    1. Raise Awareness: Improve understanding of NCDs, social determinants of health, climate change, and health equity.
    2. Foster Collaboration: Strengthen collaboration among governments, academia, professional organizations, NGOs, civil society, and the private sector.
    3. Identify Innovative Solutions: Explore innovative strategies for NCD prevention and the achievement of health-related SDG targets.
    4. Empower Communities: Promote community engagement and local action for NCD prevention and health promotion.
    5. Promote Sustainable Policies: Support policies for NCD prevention, universal health coverage, and equitable access to health services.

    The conference featured distinguished speakers from Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, and national government institutions, including academics, public health experts, policymakers, and practitioners.

    Theme

    The 3rd Mulawarman International Conference on Tropical Public Health (MICTOPH) was held under the theme:

    “Uniting for a Sustainable Future: Mobilizing Climate and Health Equity to Achieve the SDGs”

    Purpose

    The conference aimed to:

    1. Raise Awareness
      Enhance understanding of the relationship between climate change and health, including its implications for health equity and social well-being.
    2. Foster Collaboration
      Strengthen collaboration among governments, non-governmental organizations, academia, and civil society to address climate and health challenges through integrated approaches.
    3. Identify Innovative Solutions
      Explore and develop innovative, evidence-based solutions to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to health, climate, and the environment.
    4. Empower Communities
      Empower communities to take meaningful local action on climate and health issues while ensuring that community perspectives and voices are incorporated into decision-making processes.
    5. Promote Sustainable Policies
      Promote policies and strategies that advance climate and health equity and strengthen the implementation of the SDGs at the local, national, and global levels.
