About Mulawarman Agricultural Proceedings

Mulawarman Agricultural Proceedings is a scientific publication platform of Universitas Mulawarman that disseminates research findings, scientific studies, and academic contributions in the field of agriculture and related sciences.

The proceedings provide a forum for researchers, academics, students, practitioners, and other stakeholders to share knowledge, research results, innovations, and perspectives that contribute to the advancement of sustainable agriculture.

Publication Frequency

Mulawarman Agricultural Proceedings is published once a year, following the annual publication period of the International Conference on Tropical Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (ICTAFF) Universitas Mulawarman.

The proceedings publish selected scientific contributions presented and/or submitted in accordance with the publication schedule and editorial policies of the proceedings.

PUBLICATION ETHICS

Publication Ethics

Mulawarman Agricultural Proceedings (MAP) is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and research integrity. MAP follows internationally recognized principles of responsible scholarly publishing and promotes honesty, transparency, originality, confidentiality, fairness, and accountability throughout the publication process.

MAP publishes selected scientific contributions related to agriculture and related sciences, including contributions presented and/or submitted in connection with the International Conference on Tropical Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (ICTAFF) Universitas Mulawarman. The proceedings are intended to facilitate the dissemination of scientific findings, innovations, and academic perspectives.

All authors, reviewers, editors, and members of the editorial team are expected to comply with ethical standards in scholarly publishing.

Authors

Authors are responsible for ensuring that:

  1. The submitted manuscript is original and has not been published previously in substantially the same form.
  2. The manuscript is not simultaneously submitted to another journal or proceedings.
  3. All listed authors have made significant contributions to the research and manuscript.
  4. All data and research results presented are accurate and authentic.
  5. All sources, ideas, data, figures, and other materials from other works are properly acknowledged and cited.
  6. Any potential conflict of interest is disclosed.
  7. Appropriate ethical approval, permits, consent, or authorization are obtained when required.
  8. Significant errors discovered after publication are promptly reported to the Editorial Team.

Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  1. Maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  2. Conduct reviews objectively and constructively.
  3. Avoid personal criticism of authors.
  4. Identify relevant published work that has not been cited.
  5. Inform the Editor of possible plagiarism, duplicate publication, or substantial similarity.
  6. Decline the review if a conflict of interest may affect their impartiality.
  7. Not use unpublished information obtained during peer review for personal or professional advantage.

Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  1. Making fair and transparent editorial decisions.
  2. Maintaining the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  3. Selecting appropriate reviewers.
  4. Managing conflicts of interest.
  5. Taking appropriate action when publication misconduct is suspected.
  6. Ensuring the integrity and quality of the published proceedings.
  7. Publishing corrections or retractions when necessary.

MAP does not tolerate plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, or other forms of publication misconduct.


AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original scientific contributions to Mulawarman Agricultural Proceedings (MAP).

Submitted manuscripts should present research findings, scientific studies, innovations, or academic perspectives that are relevant to the scope of MAP.

Submission Requirements

Authors must ensure that:

  1. The manuscript follows the official MAP template.
  2. The manuscript is written in clear academic English.
  3. The manuscript has not been previously published.
  4. The manuscript is not simultaneously submitted to another publication.
  5. All authors have approved the submitted version.
  6. All references are complete and accurate.
  7. Tables and figures are properly numbered and titled.
  8. Permission has been obtained for copyrighted photographs, datasets, figures, or other third-party materials.
  9. All sources are appropriately cited.
  10. The manuscript complies with the ethical requirements of MAP.

The current MAP submission system requires authors to register or log in before submitting a manuscript. The submission checklist also requires authors to confirm originality, reference accuracy, proper labeling of tables and figures, and permission to publish submitted materials.

Manuscript Preparation

Authors should follow the official Mulawarman Agricultural Proceedings Author Template regarding:

  • manuscript structure;
  • title and author information;
  • abstract;
  • keywords;
  • introduction;
  • methodology;
  • results and discussion;
  • conclusion;
  • acknowledgements;
  • references;
  • tables and figures.

Manuscripts that do not comply with the required format may be returned to the authors for revision before entering the review process.


PEER-REVIEW PROCESS

Peer-Review Process

Mulawarman Agricultural Proceedings (MAP) applies a peer-review process to evaluate the academic quality and relevance of submitted manuscripts.

1. Initial Editorial Screening

All submissions undergo an initial editorial screening to assess:

  • relevance to the scope of MAP;
  • originality;
  • completeness;
  • manuscript format;
  • academic quality;
  • compliance with submission requirements.

Only manuscripts that meet the basic requirements may proceed to the review process.

2. Peer Review

Manuscripts are evaluated by qualified reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject of the manuscript.

Reviewers assess aspects including:

  • originality;
  • relevance;
  • scientific quality;
  • methodological soundness;
  • clarity;
  • significance;
  • quality of discussion;
  • appropriateness of references.

3. Editorial Decision

Possible editorial decisions include:

  • Accept
  • Accept with Revisions
  • Revise and Resubmit
  • Reject

The final decision is made by the Editor based on the reviewers' comments, the quality of the manuscript, and its conformity with the scope and standards of MAP.

4. Revision

Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts according to reviewers' and editors' comments.

Submission of a revised manuscript does not automatically guarantee acceptance.

PLAGIARISM POLICY

Plagiarism Policy

Mulawarman Agricultural Proceedings (MAP) has a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct.

Plagiarism is defined as presenting another person's words, ideas, data, findings, images, or other intellectual work as one's own without appropriate acknowledgment.

Forms of plagiarism and academic misconduct may include:

  1. Direct plagiarism.
  2. Mosaic or patchwork plagiarism.
  3. Improper paraphrasing.
  4. Self-plagiarism or redundant publication.
  5. Duplicate publication.
  6. Fabrication of data.
  7. Falsification or manipulation of data.
  8. Unauthorized use of copyrighted materials.
  9. Citation manipulation.
  10. Inappropriate authorship.

Submitted manuscripts may be checked using plagiarism-detection software or other appropriate similarity-screening methods.

If substantial plagiarism or other publication misconduct is identified, MAP may:

  • request clarification from the authors;
  • require appropriate revision;
  • reject the manuscript;
  • withdraw a manuscript from publication;
  • issue a correction;
  • retract a published paper; or
  • take other appropriate actions depending on the severity of the case.

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring the originality and academic integrity of their submissions.


OPEN ACCESS POLICY

Open Access Policy

Mulawarman Agricultural Proceedings (MAP) is committed to providing broad access to published scientific knowledge.

MAP provides access to its published proceedings through its online platform so that researchers, academics, students, practitioners, and other interested readers can access and use the published scientific information.

The open-access policy is intended to facilitate:

  • dissemination of scientific knowledge;
  • academic communication;
  • research visibility;
  • knowledge sharing; and
  • the advancement of agricultural science and related disciplines.

Readers may access published proceedings online without requiring individual subscription access.


CORRECTION AND RETRACTION

Correction and Retraction Policy

Mulawarman Agricultural Proceedings (MAP) is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the published scholarly record.

Correction

A correction may be issued when a published paper contains an error that does not invalidate the overall scientific findings but requires correction.

Examples may include:

  • typographical errors;
  • incorrect author information;
  • minor errors in tables or figures;
  • incorrect references; or
  • other errors that can be corrected without invalidating the publication.

Retraction

A publication may be retracted when there is substantial evidence of serious problems affecting the integrity or reliability of the work.

Reasons for retraction may include:

  • fabricated data;
  • falsified data;
  • substantial plagiarism;
  • duplicate publication;
  • serious methodological errors;
  • unethical research practices;
  • major authorship misconduct; or
  • other serious violations of publication ethics.

A retraction notice will clearly explain the reason for the retraction and will be linked to the original publication whenever possible.

The original publication will remain part of the scholarly record, with an appropriate retraction indication.

Authors who discover significant errors in their published work are encouraged to contact the Editorial Team promptly.


COPYRIGHT NOTICE

Copyright Notice

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submitted manuscripts are original and that they have obtained the necessary permissions to use copyrighted materials belonging to third parties.

Authors must obtain permission to reproduce copyrighted:

  • photographs;
  • figures;
  • tables;
  • maps;
  • datasets;
  • illustrations; and
  • other protected materials,

when such permission is required.
