Abstract

 


Public Relations of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has an important role in building a positive image of the agency through a media relations strategy. One of the efforts made is through press tour activities, where public relations interacts directly with the mass media to convey the latest information about the activities and developments of the agency. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of media relations strategies, especially press tours, in improving the positive image of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of NTT. The research method used was qualitative, with in-depth interviews as the main data collection technique. The results showed that the press tour carried out by the Public Relations of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of NTT was effective in establishing good relations with the media and disseminating credible information to the public. Cooperation with accredited media and a personal approach in establishing relationships with mass media have proven to increase public trust in the agency. These findings suggest that a media relations strategy through press tours can be an effective tool for building and maintaining a positive image of government agencies.
