Plagiarism Policy
PLAGIARISM AND REVOCATION POLICY
The Editorial Board of the KINERJA: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Manajemen acknowledges that plagiarism is unacceptable and therefore establishes the following policy stating specific actions (penalties) for the identification of plagiarism/similarity in articles submitted for publication in Tis journal. KINERJA: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Manajemen will use Turnitin originality checking software as a tool in detecting text similarities in article manuscripts and final versions of articles that are ready to be published. A maximum of 20 percent similarity is allowed for the submitted paper. If we find more than 20 percent of the similarity index, the article will be returned to the author for correction and resubmission.
Definition
Plagiarism involves "the use or close imitation of the language and thoughts of other authors and their representation as one's original work."
Policy
Papers must be original, unpublished, and not wait for publication elsewhere. Any material taken verbatim from other sources needs to be identified as clearly different from the current original text by (1) indentation, (2) use of quotation marks, and (3) identification of the source.
Any text with an amount exceeding fair use standards (herein defined as more than two or three sentences or its equivalent) or any graphic material reproduced from another source requires permission from the copyright holder and, where possible, the original author and also requires identification of the source; For example, previous publications.
When plagiarism is identified, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the review of this paper and will approve the steps according to the level of plagiarism detected in the paper in accordance with the following guidelines:
Plagiarism Rate
Small - short sections from other articles are plagiarized without significant data or ideas taken from other papers.
Action:
A warning was given to the author, and a request to change the text and correctly cite the original article was made
Intermediate - most papers are plagiarized without proper citation to the original paper
Action:
Submitted articles are rejected, and authors are prohibited from submitting further articles for one year
Severe - most plagiarized papers involve the reproduction of the original results or ideas presented in other publications
Action:
The paper was rejected, and the author was prohibited from submitting further articles for five years.
It is understood that all authors are responsible for the content of the papers they submit because they all read and understand the Copyright and Licensing Terms of the Management Journal. If penalties are imposed for plagiarism, all authors will be subject to the same penalties.
If a second case of plagiarism by the same author is identified, a decision on the steps to be enforced will be made by the Editorial board (Editor-in-Chief and Editorial members) with the Editor-in-Chief. The author may be banned from submitting further articles forever.
This policy also applies to material reproduced from other publications by the same author. If an author uses text or numbers that have previously been published, the corresponding paragraphs or numbers must be identified and the previous publication referenced. It is understood that in the case of review papers or papers of a tutorial nature, a lot of material was published earlier.
Authors must identify the source of previously published material and obtain permission from the original author and publisher. If an author submits a manuscript to the KINERJA: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Manajemen with significant overlap with a manuscript submitted to another journal simultaneously, and this overlap is discovered during the review process or after the publication of both papers, the editor of another journal is notified, and the case is treated as a severe case of plagiarism. Significant overlap means the use of identical or nearly identical numbers and identical or slightly modified text for half or more of the paper. For self-plagiarism of less than half of the papers but more than one-tenth of the papers, this case should be treated as intermediate plagiarism. If self-plagiarism is limited to the methods section, the case will be considered minor plagiarism.
If an author uses some previously published material to clarify the presentation of new results, the previously published material must be identified, and the differences from the current publication should be mentioned. Permission to republish must be obtained from the copyright holder. In the case of a manuscript that was originally published in the proceedings of the conference and then submitted for publication di KINERJA: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Manajemen Whether in identical or expanded form, the author must identify the name of the conference proceedings and the date of publication and obtain permission to republish from the copyright holder. The editor may decide not to accept this paper for publication.
However, an author should be allowed to use material from an unpublished presentation, including visual displays, in subsequent journal publications. In the event that a publication is filed, which was originally published in another language, the title, date, and journal of the original publication must be identified by the author, and copyright must be obtained. Editors can accept the publication of such translations in order to attract the attention of a wider audience. Editors may select specific papers that have already been published (e.g. "historic" papers) for republication to provide a better perspective of a series of papers published in a single issue of the KINERJA: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Manajemen. These republications must be clearly identified as such, the date and journal of the original publication must be granted, and permission from the author and publisher must be obtained.
The Management Journal layout editor for the Journal is responsible for maintaining the list of authors subject to penalties and will check that no paper authors are submitted in this list. If a banned author is identified, the layout editor will notify the Editor-in-Chief, who will take appropriate action. This policy will be posted on the website with instructions for submitting the manuscript, and a copy will be sent to the author with a confirmation email upon receipt of their original manuscript.
Revocation or Correction
Authors are not advised to withdraw submitted manuscripts after the publication process (review, copyedit, layout, etc.). During this time, the KINERJA: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Manajemen has exhausted valuable resources in addition to the time spent in the process. If under no circumstances does the author still request a withdrawal, the author must send an email to the editor of the KINERJA: Jurnal Ekonomi dan Manajemen using the same email address used in the correspondence.
Editors of the Management Journal will consider withdrawing the publication if:
They have clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of major errors (for example, miscalculations or experimental errors) or as a result of fabrication (for example, data) or falsification (for example, manipulation of images)
Indicated plagiarism
- Findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper attribution to previous sources or disclosure to editors, permission to republish, or justification (i.e., cases of excessive publication)
- Contains unauthorized material or data for use
- The copyright has been violated, or there are some other serious legal issues (e.g., defamation, privacy)
- Reporting unethical research
- It has been published solely on the basis of a compromised or manipulated peer review process.
- The author fails to disclose the main competing interests (aka conflicts of interest) which, in the editor's view, would overly affect the interpretation of the work or recommendations by editors and peer reviewers.
Notice of revocation
- Link to retracted articles wherever possible (i.e., in all online versions)
- Clearly identify the article being pulled (for example, by including the title and author in the retraction title or citing the withdrawn article)
- Clearly identified as retraction (i.e., different from other types of corrections or comments)
- Published immediately to minimize harmful effects
- Freely available to all readers (i.e., not behind access barriers or available only to subscribers)
- Stating who repealed the article
- State the reasons for the revocation
- Be objective, factual, and avoid inflammatory language
Revocation is usually not appropriate
- The authorship is disputed, but there is no reason to doubt the validity of the findings
- The main findings of this work are still reliable, and corrections can quite address errors or concerns
- An editor has inconclusive evidence to support revocation or is awaiting additional information such as from an institutional investigation.
- The author's conflict of interest has been reported to the journal after publication, but in the editor's view, this is unlikely to affect the interpretation or recommendation or conclusion of the article.
Editors of the Management Journal will consider issuing a statement of concern
- They received inconclusive evidence of research or publication errors by the authors
- There is evidence that the findings are unreliable, but the authors' agency will not investigate the case
- They believe that the investigation into alleged misconduct related to the publication has not been or will not be fair and impartial or conclusive
- The investigation is ongoing, but the assessment will not be available for a sufficiently long time
Editors of the Management Journal will consider issuing corrections
- A small percentage of reliable publications prove misleading (mainly due to honest misconduct)
- The list of authors/contributors is incorrect (i.e. a worthy author has been removed or someone who does not meet the authorship criteria has been included)
- The mechanism follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). For your convenience, please click here to read the document.
